An Ecological Clerk of Works (ECOW) provides a supervisory service on construction sites; where there are ecological risks and increasing cases. An ECOW is required to be present on construction sites. This helps ensure compliance with planning conditions or specific requirements under a Natural England licence. CEC has a team of experienced ECOWs who can advise in the field on the best construction practice for ecological concerns.
CEC can deliver toolbox talks and provide on-site advice about protected species and precautionary methods of working.
CEC can supervise procedures with ecological risks, conduct checks for at-risk habitats or species, and monitor biodiversity on-site. When a protected species licence is in place, we can also manage the conditions and reporting required.
We have provided ECOW teams to major projects across the South West.
